Photos of the Carport Project

Photos taken by the contractors during the carport roof replacement project have been posted to the photo area and to our Flickr photo gallery. The photos depict the demolition stage where much of the old rotted wood is exposed. From the photos, it's clear how overdue this project truly was. With proper maintenance, the new roofs and carports themselves should last for years to come!

Please pardon the quality of the photos and the fact that they are not in color. Our contractor did not provide the originals. Clicking on them to view a larger size will look much clearer than the smaller copies.

Notice: Fire Alarm Testing 9/21/2009

The content of this post was taken from a memo sent from Olympus Group to NVC Owners dated September 10, 2009.

Please be informed that on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 9:00am, AAA Alarms will be on property to perform the quarterly testing of the fire alarm system.

It is not necessary for residents to evacuate the buildings when the audible alarm sounds. It is only a test.

Concerns Regarding Exposed Conduit

The content of this announcement was taken from a Memo from Olympus Group to Condo Owners dated September 10, 2009.

The Executive Board of Narragansett Village condominium Association would like to address the concerns of owners regarding the exposed conduit in the South Building and the future exposed conduit in the remaining buildings.

The walls and ceilings are cinder block and concrete and as a result the conduit cannot be snaked through or concealed. The conduit will be painted to match the existing walls and ceilings.

It should be noted that the City of Warwick had an initial requirement for the conduit to be painted red, as they are a safety system but agreed to allow the Association to match the existing colors as to not be too intrusive.

A hallway meeting will be scheduled with the residents as the vendor progresses to each building to answer unit owner questions or concerns. You will be notified of the time and date for your buildings' hallway meeting as soon as the schedule is received.

Photos of Concealed vs. Non-Concealed Fire Equipment

As noted in a letter from Olympus Group on August 13, 2009, owners have the option to have fire alarm equipment inside their units installed with the wiring conduit either concealed (inside the ceilings) or not concealed (visible on the ceilings). The cost of concealing the conduit will be an additional charge of $209.00 per unit. See the original letter for payment information.

Here are photos showing both concealed and unconcealed installations of both the heat detectors and alarm horns that will be installed in the hallways and bedrooms of each unit.



** Note: The unconcealed conduit is installed unpainted and is naturally a silver color. Unit owners may paint the conduit with standard latex paint as shown in the photos.
